Hi, my name is Kaitlyn and EMPR 200 will be my fifth EMPR course, and it is the final one I need for my certificate.
I am in my fourth year at Queen’s, majoring in politics with certificates in employment relations and law, and just finished my busiest semester yet – I worked both here in Kingston for Queen’s and in Ottawa for the government, while maintaining full-time studies (looking back it was A LOT). I look forward to graduating in April, after which I will be working for the federal government. I also look forward to having a quieter term this winter.
I started taking EMPR courses because I am interested in policy and law, and thought the topic of labour and employment was a good starting point for exploring my interests.
I’m happy to share my experience with any of the EMPR courses if anyone is curious about them or the certificate and I look forward to embarking on this course with everyone.

I enjoyed reading your introduction post! You’re in the final stretch, this must be a very exciting time for you. It is great to see that you have the work experience with the federal government which you plan to return to as this course is of great value to both the public and private sector. This is a great last course to take before the completion of your certificate.
